What are friends for...

Yesterday was awful...to say the least. After a long 8 hour shift at the hospital and an even longer 3 hour shift at the ice cream store, i was T-I-R-E-D and a little bit emotional to say the least.

I called a good friend to talk before bed and I got a very lovely facebook holla holla in the morning with this verse to comfort me and encourage me!

Isaiah 33:2 - O Lord be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.

What a nice way to start the morning.

The Gang

Bethany and I used to talk about how neither of us had friends outside of Uganda and how lonely we would be without eachother, and without UG when we got home.

But.....i do have friends! :) And they are great! There are about 12 of us in our 'gang' and we all get along really well and have tons of fun. We have a secret facebook group that doesn't show on our profiles. We are THAT cool. Its great. Kirk and Jess's house is kind of our head quarters and its where everyone gathers before we do anything. We have girls's nights where we have a glass of wine and eat fruit and chocalte and sit on the porch and chat all night. We go line dancing. We make goals for the summer, like camping, river floating, baseball game going, etc.

Its great.

My new favorite things.

You know when you get this feeling like you just HAVE to buy something right now? Sometimes it comes after you put a big check in your bank account, or if you see something sweet and new your friend got, or if your bored at home sitting at your computer? Well i had that feeling a few days ago and i bought the following.....









They are both from a really cool website and you can search for anything you want basically and they put whatever design you want, on whatever item you want. I searched Africa and scrolled through 12 pages of stuff and found these beauties! The best part was shipping was only 6 dollars to Canada. Now i only have to wait 12 days to really really enjoy them.

A Fresh Start

I've been thinking for a while about switching over to my very own blog and here it is. With the help of Erin, I was able to make a cool header thing like hers! And it only took me 4 tries to actually get the link on her name right.

I've been doing a lot of writing in my mind and I thought it might be nice to get it "down on paper". And maybe, someone out in the world wide web, might think that what i have to interesting. Or at least good enough to glance at every now and then.
